Phoenix Quilt Show 2016

The mister and I attended the inaugural AQS quilt show in Phoenix several weeks ago. I really enjoyed myself and even the mister felt inspired by all of the beautiful and artistic quilts. I didn’t make my credit card scream too very loudly and I took quite a few photos. Please note that it was a busy and packed show, so most of my photos had to be taken from the side. Therefore they aren’t of the best quality, but I think you will appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship nonetheless.

This quilt looked like a photograph. I thought those lambs would walk right off the wall!

Great modern “scrappy” quilt

The detail and stitch work on this piece was amazing!IMG_4810

The variety and themes of the creations knew no bounds!IMG_4813

Super sweet with lovely quilting. IMG_4815

Very large and very detailed landscape quilt. I was amazed at the range of materials used and the realism. IMG_4816

I love octopuses, so this appealed to me. However, the name of the quilt is Fern Rising. Super complex and very creative!IMG_4822

What an interesting quilt and a very different technique.

Yet another landscape but with a more modern feel. Love the Southwest-y colors and theme.

This reminds me of our nearly daily sunrise and sunset show at my house!IMG_4874

The playful theme of this caught my eye, but the fantastic detail work kept me looking for a long timeIMG_4875

Much more complex and realistic when viewed closerIMG_4876

This is a wonderful photo-realistic piece. I can only imagine the hours and effort that it took to make this beauty!IMG_4877

I hope you enjoyed this quick walk through of just a few of the quilts that I had the privilege to see and photograph. I have a project of my own that I need to focus on, so I will now turn back to my sewing machine.
